diaper covers 101

okay, i am not ashamed to admit that i am a bit of a children’s clothing snob.  i can’t help it….and i make no apologies for it.  i think one of the WORST baby clothing offenses parents (and photographers) make is to NOT cover up those god-awful printed disposable diapers.  seriously folks, there is nothing worse than seeing a gorgeous portrait of a beautiful child ruined by the sight of the pampers logo and elmo on the diaper front.

the solution for this problem is to have on stock several diaper cover options! and if you have a little girl, please remember her diaper cover or bloomer when dressing her!

please excuse my super lame photo of my daughter wearing a diaper cover….she was NOT happy at ALL that i was not holding her. I’ll try again another day for a shot of a diaper cover.

here are some great resources for diaper covers:

  • locally, i LOVE to purchase the plain diaper covers by kissy kissy at The White Rabbit in Ghent, Norfolk, Virginia.
  • carrot top clothes offers very plain unisex covers by The Lullaby Set.  i keep a set of these in each size handy for photographs.
  • cute, ruffled panties at Olive Juice Kids.
  • Pixie Lily offers beautiful pima cotton in their jersey knit collection.
  • you can also purchase gorgeous monogrammed ruffle bloomers from Carrot Top Clothes.
  • Children’s Cottage offers several cute bloomer options as well.
  • these princess panties from Orient Expressed are oh-so-cute!
  • LOVE these bloomers…so cute and vintage!  a MUST for any little girl.  This site also have a ton of other options for diaper covers.
