i took the kids for haircuts today. it was flossie’s first haircut, and although i respect a good mullet, i really didn’t want my daughter to be rocking one. so, to pigtails and crewcuts we went. of course i took my camera to document this big step to big girlhood.
shockingly, we had little drama and only a few attempts to swipe at the hair technician (flossie has entered a swatting/hitting phase). i came armed with the correct lingo for the very specific hairstyle i have been waiting patiently to have a little girl to have. my friend’s little girl has THE BEST haircut i have ever seen on a kiddo…i’ve been jonesing for that hair on my daughter since before flossie was born. i’m certain our trip to the hair salon was probably a bit premature, but i couldn’t wait to get her hair prepped for the perfect “stacked bob” look.
while there, my mind raced to figure out what to capture; the result is the following hair cut shot list to share with all of you. i LOVE compiling mental shot lists, so it is super fun for me to share these lists with you. if you have taken a “finding the joy” class, then you are all too aware of my shot lists!

i’ll try to get some better “after” shots tomorrow. she was NOT feelin’ it after the “traumatic” event of having her hair cut. i think she’ll be over punishing me by not looking at my lens tomorrow.
and a little shot list for you to use when you get your muchin’s hair cut:

Looks like Flossie did a great job! And so did you! LOVE the pics!!!!
she is too cute! great pix!!
Precious!!! (And I love your new blog design & layout!!!)
thanks so much, pleasant!!!! the new design was a long time coming…glad it is finally done! i’m not totally in love with the colors, but that is for another day to fix!
I’ve had an appointment scheduled for a first haircut for my daughter Teddy (17 months) for today. But she was so tired and sleepy that I’ve had to cancel that. How lucky I am to find your pictures and shotlist. Your girl was very brave!
I’ve blogged about using your checklist! Thank you for the inspiration Willette!
